Safeguarding

St Mark's is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk to worship and grow in Christ safely. This is done in a coordinated and supported manner and involves Church Safeguarding Officers, the Senior Pastoral Staff and the Diocesan Safeguarding Team. Concerns about children, young people and adults at risk will be diligently and promptly responded to according to our procedures, recognising the sensitivity they may hold for those involved.

The Parochial Church Council of this church adopted 'A Safe Church' on 9 November 2009 and last reviewed its safeguarding policies, procedures and practice in March 2021.

You will find a paper copy of 'A Safe Church' in Reception. The full manual is available for download from The Diocese of Southwark's website.

The Parish Safeguarding Officer for this church is Sarah Spreckley and the PCC Safeguarding Lead is Paul Newton. They can be contacted via 020 7223 6188 or safeguarding@smbr.church.
